Can there be people in my photo?

Updated August 19, 2026

Short answer

DecorAI is built for rooms, buildings and outdoor spaces, not for photographs of people, and every upload passes an automated safety check. People incidentally present in the space — or depicted in framed photos, posters, artwork or a TV screen — are normally fine, but a photo whose subject is a person will be rejected.

If an upload is refused, retake the photo of the empty space. It is also the better input: a person standing in the middle of a room hides the floor and the furniture the AI needs to see.

Family photos on the wall, a portrait above the sofa or a face on the television do not normally trigger a refusal. If they do, crop the frame slightly and try again.
