What angle and framing should I use?

Updated August 19, 2026

Short answer

Shoot from a corner or doorway at roughly chest height, with the camera held level and both a floor line and a ceiling line in the frame. That framing gives DecorAI the perspective cues it needs; close-ups of a single wall, ceiling-only shots and steep downward angles produce the weakest results.

FramingResult quality
Corner or doorway, level camera, whole roomBest
Straight-on wall with floor and ceiling visibleGood
Wide-angle phone lens (0.5x)Usable, but expect bent walls
Close-up of one piece of furniturePoor — the AI has no room to redesign
Tilted up or down at a steep anglePoor — the perspective distorts

If you want the design to match your photo exactly, enable Keep Exact Photo Angle. If you would rather see the room from a nicer viewpoint, use Change Photo Angle and let the AI re-frame it.
