Does DecorAI keep my actual room, or does it invent a new one?

Updated August 19, 2026

Short answer

DecorAI redesigns the room in your photo rather than generating a new one. Walls, windows, doors, ceiling height, perspective and camera angle are preserved unless you specifically ask for a change, so the result reads as your own space with new finishes, furniture and lighting.

The AI reads the structure of your photo first — where the floor meets the walls, where the light comes from, how large the room is — and then applies the style you chose inside that structure. That is why a good input photo matters so much.

Controls that make it even stricter

  • "Keep Room Details" tells the AI to preserve architecture and existing features as closely as possible
  • "Keep Exact Photo Angle" prevents the camera position from drifting
  • The Floor Planner changes only the flooring and nothing else
  • The Inpainting editor changes only the area you paint with the brush

Small details can still shift between generations — a window may gain a different frame, or a doorway may move slightly. Treat every result as a visual concept, not a measured survey of the room.
