Short answer

To redesign a room with DecorAI, open the app or app.decoraihome.com, tap the Interior Designer, upload or take a photo of the room, pick a room type and a style, then press Generate. Your redesigned room is usually ready in under 10 seconds and is saved automatically to History.

Step by step

  1. 1Open DecorAI on your phone or go to app.decoraihome.com in a browser. No account is needed to start.
  2. 2Choose AI Interior Designer from the home screen.
  3. 3Add a photo: take one with the camera, pick one from your gallery, or crop an image you already have. Shoot from a doorway or corner so the whole room is visible.
  4. 4Choose the room type (living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, office and 40+ more) so the AI knows what furniture belongs there.
  5. 5Choose a style — Modern, Scandinavian, Minimalist, Industrial, Bohemian, Japandi, Coastal, Farmhouse and 60+ others — and optionally a colour scheme.
  6. 6Optional: add design controls (Keep Room Details, Add Ambient Lighting, Accent Wall, Plants and Greenery and 30+ more), attach up to five reference photos of furniture you own, or type free-text instructions.
  7. 7Press Generate. On the free plan you watch a short rewarded video first; Pro generates immediately.
  8. 8Compare before and after with the slider, then save, share, regenerate for a different take, or open a Design Report.

If you like the layout of the room and only want new decor, turn on "Keep Room Details" and "Keep Exact Photo Angle". If you want a bolder change, leave them off and add "Replace Furniture" or "Open Floor Plan".

How long it takes

Most designs finish in under 10 seconds and many in about 5. During peak demand a generation can take 20 to 60 seconds. Pro subscribers get priority processing.
