How accurate is the cost estimate, and which currency is it in?

Short answer

The Design Report cost estimate is priced in your own local currency, resolved from your device region, and is given as three tiers — budget, mid-range and premium — plus per-category ranges. Treat it as a planning-grade order of magnitude, not a quotation: real prices depend on your country, your suppliers and your labour costs.

How to use the estimate

Compare tiers, not absolutes: the useful signal is that a premium version costs roughly three times the budget one
Use the per-category breakdown to see where the money actually goes — often lighting and flooring, not furniture
Take the category list to a supplier for a real quote

Estimates exclude labour rates specific to your area, delivery, waste removal, permits and VAT or sales tax treatment. They will not match a contractor’s quotation.

Reports created before local-currency pricing was introduced keep the amounts they were written with. Generate a fresh report on a new design if you want current local pricing.
