How do I design a hallway or entryway with AI?
Updated August 19, 2026
Short answer
Shoot down the length of the hallway from the front door, or straight at the entry wall, then use the DecorAI Interior Designer with room type "hallway" or "entryway". Hallways are narrow, so the useful controls are Mirrors, Built-In Shelving, Hidden Storage and Add Ambient Lighting.
- Shoot down the length, not across it — a hallway photographed side-on gives the AI nothing to work with
- Include the floor and the ceiling; the proportions matter more here than in any other space
- A bench, hooks and a mirror is the standard entryway upgrade — ask for it in free text
For a dead end at the end of a corridor, use the AI Corner Designer instead — it is designed for exactly that kind of leftover space.

Design toolsWhat does the AI Corner Designer (Space Optimizer) do?The AI Corner Designer transforms one awkward, empty or underused corner of a room and leaves the rest of the space intact. You upload a photo of the dead corner and pick an idea — reading nook, compact home office, built-in storage, pet area, coffee bar, plant corner, entryway bench, kids play corner, mini bar or display shelves.Photos and uploadsWhat angle and framing should I use?Shoot from a corner or doorway at roughly chest height, with the camera held level and both a floor line and a ceiling line in the frame. That framing gives DecorAI the perspective cues it needs; close-ups of a single wall, ceiling-only shots and steep downward angles produce the weakest results.
