Do I need design experience to use DecorAI?
Updated August 19, 2026
Short answer
No design experience is required. DecorAI is built around presets — pick a room type and a style and press Generate — and every extra control is optional. Homeowners, renters, real-estate agents and professional designers all use the same interface.
If you do not know which style you want, generate the same room in three or four different styles and compare them side by side. Seeing your own room in Scandinavian, Japandi and Industrial is a much faster way to find your taste than browsing catalogues.
Helpful shortcuts for beginners
- Use AI Room Analysis (Pro) to get a written critique and a ready-made improvement prompt you can hand straight to the designer
- Chat with Milo, the AI room planner, about layout, furniture sizing and traffic flow
- Browse the Community tab to see what other people generated and which styles they used
- Build a Moodboard from images you like and let DecorAI name and reproduce that style
