How do I design a kids room or nursery with AI?

Updated August 19, 2026

Short answer

Photograph the room with the toys tidied away, then use the DecorAI Interior Designer with room type "kids room" or "nursery" and describe the child’s age in the free-text field. Age matters more than style: a nursery, a six-year-old’s room and a teenager’s room need completely different furniture.

Useful instructions

  • "Nursery for a newborn, cot, changing area, soft neutral palette, blackout curtains"
  • "Room for a 7-year-old, low open storage, desk for homework, room to play on the floor"
  • "Teenager’s room, double bed, desk, wardrobe, no childish motifs"
  • Hidden Storage and Multi-Functional Furniture earn their place in every kids room
  • Space Maximization helps when the room doubles as a playroom

Generated images are not safety guidance. Anchoring furniture to walls, blind-cord safety, cot standards and window restrictors are real-world requirements the AI knows nothing about.
