DecorAI is an AI visualization tool for interiors, exteriors and outdoor spaces. It takes a photograph of a real space and returns a photorealistic redesign of that same space. It was created and first released in 2024 by Rocket Digital Limited and runs on iPhone, iPad, Android and the web.

#### The generation pipeline

1. You add a photo. It is uploaded to DecorAI’s storage.
2. The photo and your instruction pass automated safety checks.
3. The request is routed to one of several AI image providers running the same underlying model. If a provider is busy or failing, the request moves to another rather than erroring.
4. The generated image is checked again before it is returned.
5. The result is displayed with a before-and-after comparison and saved to your History.

Typical end-to-end time is under 10 seconds and often around 5. During peak demand it can reach 20–60 seconds. Pro subscribers are processed with priority.

### Quickstart: your first design

From installing DecorAI to a finished, saved redesign in about three minutes.

#### 1. Open DecorAI

Install from the App Store or Google Play, or go straight to app.decoraihome.com. No account, sign-in or payment card is required to start — you get three free designs per day.

#### 2. Photograph the space

Stand in a doorway or corner, hold the phone level at about chest height, turn the lights on, and make sure the floor line and some ceiling are in frame. Avoid the ultra-wide (0.5x) lens.

#### 3. Choose the tool

#### 4. Set the direction

1. Pick the room type so the AI knows what belongs there.
2. Pick a style, and optionally a colour scheme.
3. Add at most two or three design controls.
4. Optionally type one concrete sentence of instructions.

#### 5. Generate and review

On the free plan a short rewarded video plays first. When the design appears, drag the before-and-after slider to confirm the room still matches yours, then save, share, regenerate, or open a Design Report (Pro).

### Photo guide: getting a good input

How to photograph interiors, exteriors and gardens so the AI keeps your space recognisable. The input photo is the single biggest factor in output quality.

DecorAI reads the geometry of your space from the photograph: where the floor meets the walls, how far away the far wall is, where the light comes from. Anything that obscures those cues degrades the result, no matter which style or control you choose.

#### Interior checklist

- Include a boundary — fence, hedge or wall — for scale
- Include the ground surface across the whole frame

#### Accepted files

JPG, PNG, HEIC and WEBP. Aim for at least about 1024 pixels on the shortest side; ordinary phone photos are well above that. Photos can be cropped inside the app before generating.

> Screenshots, renders, sketches and floor plans are poor inputs. AI Room Analysis will refuse them outright as "not a room".

DecorAI creates visual concepts. They are useful for inspiration, comparison, early planning, marketing discussion and communicating a design direction — and they are not documentation.

- A construction or engineering drawing
- A building approval or evidence of code compliance
- An exact bill of materials
- A guarantee of what a finished project will look like

#### Always verify with a professional

- Structural changes: removing walls, enlarging openings, altering rooflines

- Fire safety, ventilation and accessibility requirements
- Planning permission, listed-building and property restrictions
- Anything a contractor will price and warranty

Presets carry most of the work in DecorAI. The free-text field exists for the specifics presets cannot express — a particular material, a constraint, something to keep, something to remove.

#### The shape of a good instruction

1. Say what to change: "replace the grey sofa".
2. Say what it becomes: "with a cream bouclé three-seater".
3. Say what must survive: "keep the wooden floor and the bookcase".
4. Stop. Two or three sentences is the useful maximum.

Colour reaches a generation through four different routes, and they are not equally precise. Two of them produce measured hex values you can take to a paint counter.

#### How measured palettes are produced

Both the Moodboard palette and the Design Report palette are extracted on your own device by reading the actual pixels of the images, then named by the AI. Extraction is instant, free, and does not consume a generation — and because the values are measured rather than invented, they can be used as a real starting point for paint and fabric selection.

#### Practical workflow

1. Collect references on a Moodboard and read its measured palette.
2. Redesign your room from that board, so the generation uses those exact colours.
3. Generate a Design Report on the result to get the named hex palette of the finished design.
4. Export the report PDF and take the palette page to the paint shop.

> A hex value is not a paint code. Screens, lighting and finish all shift how a colour reads — always test a real sample on the wall before buying a full tin.

#### Reading the scores

The scores are a consistent AI judgement, not a measurement. Their value is comparative: analyse the room, generate a redesign, analyse the redesign, and read the difference. Small variations between runs on the same photo are normal; large swings usually mean the photo is ambiguous.

#### Rejections

Inputs that are not photographs of a real space — people, product shots, documents, screenshots, sketches, renders, or images too dark or too close to read — are refused with a "not a room" message. This is deliberate: scores for a non-room would be meaningless.

#### Language

The analysis is written in your app language across all 23 supported languages.

#### Colour palette

The palette is extracted on your device from the actual pixels of the generated image and then named by the AI. The hex values are real measurements, which is what makes the palette page useful at a paint counter.

#### Currency and cost model

Estimates are priced in your own currency, resolved from your device region, and formatted for your locale. They are planning-grade ranges that exclude local labour rates, delivery, waste removal, permits and tax treatment. Reports written before local-currency pricing was introduced keep the amounts they were created with.

DecorAI is built for rooms, buildings and outdoor spaces. Automated checks run on every generation to keep it that way.

#### The three checks

1. Input image check — before generation starts.
2. Prompt intent check — on your written instruction.
3. Output check — on the generated image, before it is shown to you.

#### What is refused

- Sexual, explicit or pornographic content
- Graphic violence or gore
- Photographs whose subject is a person
- Instructions asking for any of the above, including indirect phrasing

#### What is allowed

- People incidentally present in a space
- People depicted in framed photos, posters, artwork, on a TV or phone screen, or in a mirror reflection
- Statues, mannequins and figures in the background
- A photographer’s hand or shadow in the frame

> If a block seems wrong, retake or crop the photo so the space is clearly the subject, and describe the room rather than its occupants.

- Only upload photos you own or are licensed to modify
